Something people forget or rather don't know is that when you eat in the morning your body increases its metabolism and therefore it will burn more calories for the rest of the day...it's like a super positive chain reaction when you eat in the morning
Yesterday was the first time I had breakfast in a long time and I am seeing other things happen...today I woke up a lot earlier than before (WITH NO ALARM!) and was alot more enegized...I'm gonna keep this up...
buhbye

| | There is also an article about breakfast aiding weightloss in the articles section. You are less likely to pick up junk food/high calorie Espresso's on the way if you started out with breakfast. |

| | | I used to not have breakfast. Scratch that---I would drink a can of Mountain Dew for breakfast. I needed the caffeine to get going. Obviously, it was an unhealthy way to start the day. No fiber, no protein, no healthy fat---just a nice green solution of carbonated water, high fructose corn syrup, and artificial flavors. Of course, it wasn't good for my appetite. I didn't usually snack between getting up and lunch, but I sometimes did, and it tended to be unhealthy stuff. I wasn't completely undisciplined in other areas of my diet, which is probably why I never got very fat. But certainly a lot of the fat I still have is due to that old habit.
Now I start off my day with green tea and a mixture of non-fat unsweetened yogurt, whey, nuts (usually sliced almonds), and berries (usually blueberries, blackberries, or raspberries). The green tea I sweeten with a tiny bit of grapefruit juice. It provides me the caffeine I still want at the beginning of the day. The yogurt mixture isn't exactly low calorie but it is quite packed with protein, monounsaturated fat, minerals, and vitamins. I also take two fish oil pills for my omega-3. I still am really hungry for lunch by 11AM, but I don't eat anything in between breakfast and lunch. I don't find that breakfast makes me eat smaller lunches, but it actually makes me eat smaller dinners. | | | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | | | Display Modes | Rate This Thread | Linear Mode | |
