Lowering complex carbs for a cut

Hey everyone,

I have a quick question regarding my upcoming cut. Hopefully, by August I will be weighing in about 190lbs and at about 11% BF. By then I want to do a cut down to about 6% which will be approx. a 9-10 lb loss in weight.

By August, I will have also started a new job that involves a lot more walking and lifting than school does. I would requite about 400 additional calories if I were to maintain.

I have heard it is best to gradually lower your complex carbs until you have achieved your desired calorie deficit. In my case, all I would have to do is cut my 800c breakfast down to about 350 and activity would take care of the rest. Do I really need to raise the calories and then gradually lower them by 200 every week? To me, it seems like a waste of time but perhaps my body will react better if I drop cals gradually.

Any opinions in this?

Thanks very much
