I buy instant oatmeal right now. I know its good for you, but I want to try to make my own oatmeal in the morning i thought i saw a thread somewhere about what everyone adds in with their oatmeal? I cant remember.

Other than that I would just buy the big round quaker oatmeal oats right? Well post your recipes otherwise link me please!!

There are different kinds of Quaker Oats. Steel cut are the best, but require 30 minutes to cook. Old Fashioned Oats are next best and take only 3 minutes to microwave. I mix in frozen blue berries as soon as it comes out of the microwave. They taste good and cool it off so I can start eating it almost immediately. I also like to add cinnamon for some more flavor.

I like the Quaker Multi Grain, I use Silk Light soy milk (vanilla), milled flax seed, cinnamon, a little natural cane sugar, blue berries and strawberries. Or rasins.

I tried using a little of my protein power, didn’t work well for me turned the cereal into mortar mix.

I will have to try nat. pb

Cooked I go: oats, whey powder, walnuts or almonds, cinnamon, sometimes dried apricots.

Uncooked: I blend a shake of skim milk, strawberries/raspberries and whey powder and pour it over the dry oats and chuck in some nuts.

Oh, and my whey powder has splenda in it, so it's sweet.

Honey drizzled steel cut oats are really, really good. So is curried steel cut oats, but that's a rather more umm acquired taste...

Adding fresh, frozen blueberries or rasberries are great. Slice a banana really thin and cook it with the oats, a SMALL amount of brown sugar is good,or add a scoop of grains to a cup of yogurt. Adding it to yogurt is a very filliung, low cal, low fat afternoon snack.

'Making your own oatmeal' is misleading. it's more like 'spicing up a bland meal'. Even tho I like the oats plain.

Whey powder and a pinch of salt for me. The pinch of salt makes all the difference. Add you protein after its cooked too.

Or if your feeling lazy with your diet, golden syrup, brown sugar and cream mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm
