Meals.... hot or cold?

Ok; so i've been thinking.... would it be better to eat a chicken cold or heated? Granted that it is fully cooked of course. When proteins are exposed to heat, they denature.... meaning the bonds break apart. However, the bonds are re-established once cooling starts.... so I have been eating cold foods such as chicken, beef, etc.... More protein I guess...

My mom then told me that eating cold food is bad because lipids (fats) enter your body as solids as opposed to liquids. It kinda makes sense, but then it doesn't.... any help on this? thx

Saturated fat will turn solid when cooled, poly/mono don't. Either which way, it doesn't matter whether or not the sat.fat is liquid or not when it enters the body - it's still going to do the same thing once it gets in there.

As for protein warmed/cooled - I don't know b/c I can't concentrate over the sound of all those hairs being split.

A question stemming off of the topic: what about if you microwave whey protein. When whey is mixed with peanut butter and some water or milk and microwaved it becomes a very cakelike substance. I know that when you microwave peanut butter it kinds of melts, so I was thinking that the cake like texture comes from some denaturing of the proteins. Does anyone have any ideas what happens, or if it makes the proteins ineffective?
