I had cystic acne which isn't much fun, it made me look like the elephant man for a while when I was at uni |

| | | So i went back today, i am going to take the next month of roaccutane i was offered and them an going to go onto a cream called differin which he said would help dry my skin. He also said its normal for it to start getting more greasy and that this cream will stop it getting bad again.
So fingers crossed, i've been delighted with the progress i have made so far, i no longer get new spots, i just have a lot of scaring from old spots but it looks a lot better. |

| | | I am pretty certain that breakfast and acne have nothing to do with each other. I have heard that dairy products have an affect, but missing meals is not one of them. Acne is more because of testosterone, a lot of people get it. I only have a very little amount of acne now, but I lost my spots possibly because of age, but also because I now have tablets and a cream for it. Maybe you should consult your GP about it, the treatments cost nothing and have good effects. |

| | | Thanks for all the replies.
I've already spoken to my doctor. He has given me some sort of liquid that I have to moisten my face with, which I do and is not working. I came back again because of this and he said I had to take 11 pills (2 the first day, 1 every next day till all the pills are gone) which I am still taking now (I believe I've taken 5 so far or so) and had to continue the moistening. None are working. |

You could try asking to be reffered but they will probably want to try other things first and save the dermatologist as a last resort.
One thing i will say is do not give up, keep going back if it is not working, and mention a dermatologist to see if you can be referred. |

| | | I went through a bout of acne as a teen. Back then prescription drugs weren't the staple of life they are today....we used to use lemon rinds on the acne. It actually worked pretty well. | | | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | | | Display Modes | Rate This Thread | Linear Mode | |
