    Powerade/Gatorade With Workout During Cutting

    When i was bulking, I drank a bottle of powerade with my workout.

    Now, however, I am cutting, so I don't know if I should be drinking it with my workouts or not. It has quite a bit of carbs, but I thought it would be good to drink 1/2 a bottle before my workout and the other 1/2 during my workout. I was thinking about using it with vanilla protein, so I would have that extra protein boost.

    Is it still a good idea, even though I'm cutting? And would it be OK to drink before/during HIIT?

    personally, I wouldn't. With a solid pre-workout meal and proper PWO nutrition, you really don't need the extra carbs. On a bulk I do for the sake of getting more calories in at an opportune time growth-wise, but on a cut I would skip it.

    A carbohydrate drink by itself is worthless without a protein source. Drinking the drink doesnt matter as much as reaching your calorie total for the day.

    I'd avoid them as much as possible personally.
