Shock diet

Hey gang,

Does anyone know a good shock diet? Something that would totally trip my body up? I've done the eat-chicken-until-you-grow-feathers-diet but I think if I went back to that diet, my body wouldnt react so sharply to it as it did before. My body adapts to things in microseconds. Again, I'm 5'5, weigh 148 lbs and have a mid-upper 20s body fat %. I would like to dip below 20 for body fat and would like to be in my low 130's.

How about the "eat in a 20% deficit" diet?

You calculate how many calories your eating on a daily basis, that is your maintenance calories.

You subtract 500 calories from that number, or 20%.

Thats how you lose fat. Not by any special shock diets or gimmicks.

Will that still enable me to develop muscle tone?

That and gaining muscle is the only way to develop muscle tone...by losing fat.

I sense you've been the victim of many fad and crash diets.

The only way to get "toned" is to lose body fat by eating in a calorie deficit and exercising consistently.

Not really, no. I was on one strict diet with many supplements, 5-6 meals a day and primarily protein, veggies and complex carbs. Then all chicken on the weekends. I dropped a lot of weight but I never got the muscle development I wanted and I did intense weight lifting with a trainer. So i'm looking for a diet that will allow me to shed more weight and enhance my strengh to develop muscle tone. Muscle tone is something I've never had. I want to be lean, that is my goal.

What does your weight lifting routine look like?

Just stick to a 20% calorie deficit, plenty of protein, and hard workouts and you'll meet your goal.

The Velocity diet (TESTOSTERONE NATION | World's Largest Bodybuilding and Weight Loss Underground Nation for details) is a great diet for fat loss, and it minimizes or eliminates muscle loss. Requires a lot of protein shakes though.
