Well as you can see it is low in sodium fat etc and reasonable in protein. I tried some out of my partners box and it tastes damn good as well. Definately better than most cereals. Just dont coat it in sugar!

Is that just the cereal or the cereal mixed with milk. I was thinking mixed with milk but then that would make the protein low and the fat medium

If you are doing low-carb, or want to avoid wheat and/or soy, then this cereal is not for you. Otherwise, it appears to be one of the better choices in cold cereals (high in fiber and protein, a relatively low percentage of carbs from sugar (though not among the lowest)), although it contains some questionable ingredients (but way down in the ingredients list, so the amounts are likely trivial). As always, any food that is not outright bad (like cereals that are 50% added sugar) needs to be considered in the context of your overall diet.

Since you are interested in finding some good cereals, here are a few examples: (I have posted this before)

1. Steel Cut Oats, Old Fashioned Cut Oats, and Regular Cut Oats (quick cook type), in large containers.

2. Various types of Go Lean Kashi cereals.

3. Fiber-One. (60 calories per 1/2 Cup, and source of fiber)

4. Grape Nuts

GRAPE-NUTS:

Ingredients: WHOLE GRAIN WHEAT FLOUR, WHEAT FLOUR, MALTED BARLEY FLOUR, SALT, DRIED YEAST, SOY LECITHIN. VITAMINS AND MINERALS: REDUCED IRON, NIACINAMIDE, ZINC OXIDE (SOURCE OF ZINC), VITAMIN B6, VITAMIN A PALMITATE, RIBOFLAVIN (VITAMIN B2), THIAMIN MONONITRATE (VITAMIN B1), FOLIC ACID, VITAMIN B12, VITAMIN D.

Its devoid of any "added in" sugars, and from what I have read on Lecithin, this is used in many bread products for various reasons, and isnt a bad ingredient.

5. Shredded Wheat and Shredded Wheat and Bran: (NOT SUGAR TOPPED)

POST SHREDDED WHEAT ORIGINAL SPOON SIZE

Ingredients: WHOLE GRAIN WHEAT

TO PRESERVE THE NATURAL WHEAT FLAVOR, BHT IS ADDED TO THE PACKAGING MATERIAL--If you dont like perservatives, dont select this one

Unless your entire protein intake comes from soy, you don't have much to worry about.

A bit of soy in protein intake wont make a difference.

The 'soy grits' and 'soy protein isolate' turned me off right away.

the verdict is still out on soy protein. whey protein however, is known to be good stuff.

don't try to get your protein from breakfast cereal. you need 'real' protein...eggs, cottage cheese, a breakfast steak (mmmm steaky goodness), etc.

I'm female and I won't touch anything that has any soy in it. I absolutely hate the stuff. It does things to my body that I don't like. Bloating for one. Increase in bodyfat percentage for another. Horrible stuff.

That's just what it does to me. I don't know if other women have the same horrible side effects that I do.

the bloating is definitely a common complaint of soy users.

all the conflicting information on whether the phytoesterols (plant estrogen-like compounds) are good/bad/neutral is why I've never gotten on the soy bandwagon.

two research papers will come out the same week, one saying soy lowers risk of prostate cancer (or cervical cancer, depending on the week) while the other says it'll up your risk of cancer, or give men breasts, or make women grow hair in all the wrong places.

plus they can may soy into bio-diesel fuel....wtf would I want to eat THAT?!

Soy is supposed to lower libido in women. That's why I stay away from large quantities of it.

The anti-soybean stuff is probably a backlash against the overhyping of the benefits of soybeans by the (politically well connected) industry... it probably does not make much of a difference if you do not make a huge percentage of your protein intake soybean based.

Pretty much any liquid vegetable oil can be made into biodiesel through the same process. Soybean oil gets attention because soybeans produce a lot of oil for the amount of acreage farmed (though still nowhere near the amount needed to replace petroleum), and the remaining parts of of the soybean can be used for human or animal food. Also, as a bean, it also helps put nitrogen back in the soil.
