Turkey Sandwich and a protein shake good pre-workout right?

A turkey sandwich on oatmeal granary bread and then a protein shake roughly one hour before a cardio session would be classed as good i assume? Just checking as this is what i eat most of the time before a cardio workout. Would it be good for weights workout too or should i have different requirements for different types of sessions?

You need the protein shake right after the workout.

Not necessarily, he is talking about a cardio session, not a weights session. If anything, I would say get some carbs inside you within an hour after training to replenish some of your lost energy.

As for a turkey sandwich and a shake 1 hr before, sounds fine to me.

Sounds to me like his question was concerning a weights work-out as well no?
