jeans and flip flops are the best ive seen.

athlete apparel should be worn in the gym. t-shirts, tank tops, sweat shirts, sweat pants, knit/mesh shorts, etc.

rivets in jeans and some other styles will indeed punch right through the pads on benches.

my gym does not allow jeans nor open toed shoes/sandals.

I've seen those at the gym I go to. It looks hilarious.

But the thing that slays me the most are guys wearing white socks and SANDALS. In the gym.

Also, ftr, I wear compression stuff under shorts, pretty much always. Because, like you, I love the way it feels. I've actually somehow managed to wear through 3 pairs in the last two months (sweat has pH of 4? wtf) I be like, "2XU? Wut!? moar compreshun!"
