P90X Chin-Up Bar?

Hi I'm new here. Sorry if this is in wrong forum, says talk about anything so I thought this would be the appropriate place.

Anyways, I'm thinking about getting the P90X Chin-Up Bar, but I have two quick questions.

1. Does this thing hang on your door frame and if it does like most in-home chin-up bars, does it require any drilling in screws to make it more sturdy?

2. Next thing, Beachbody seems to be a reliable company, yet is this thing going to last?

Here's the website incase you do not know what I am talking about:
http://www.beachbody.com/jump.jsp?it...WAY&itemID=200

Thank you for your help in advance.

1. The bar doesn't really hang on your door frame. There is a bar that places pressure on the door frame and another one that puts pressure on the wall above the door frame from the other side. When you apply weight to it (your body), the pressure doesn't pull down, it pushes into the door frame on your side and the wall on the other side.

There are two small brackets that you put on the other side. They aren't weight bearing and are just put into the drywall. The bar is held in place by your weight. The brackets keep it from sliding down the wall when there is no weight on it. They also allow you to easily lift the bar from its place if you want to take it down. You can't close the door that you put this pull up bar in but it comes down in a matter of seconds.

2. I love this bar and it is probably going to last for a long time. It has several different widths and positions for your hands which is so much better than those in-the-doorframe bars (I have one of those too that I will never ever use again). You can do close grip, shoulder width, wide grip, and palms facing each other at about shoulder width.

The one thing that I have found is that the foam handles tend to slip a little bit but I'm going to fix that by spraying the bar with hairspray (don't tell my wife) and sliding the grips back into place.

The only real warning it comes with is not to bounce on it. That might just be too much pressure on your frame or the wall above the door. I don't think you would damage the bar.

I hope that helps you in your decision.

Regarding number two, the company has been around almost nine years now. They are experiencing huge growth and they regularly come out with new products that typically do really well. I dont see them going anywhere for a long time to come.
