Red face Rep question (don't shoot me)

I thought I had this rep thing down, but now I'm confused.

Rep power is the influence your rep has on someone else right?

Ex-I repped someone, who had 0, then theirs went to 16 rep power, b/c I have 16 rep power. Ok, that makes sense.

But, how come I've been repped by people with a lot of rp, and mine only gone up 1, and I've repped people and theirs have only gone up 1?

I've only seen someone's rp increase by the amount of my rp just the one time today.

???

I don't think their rep goes up as much as you have rep. lol We would have people going from tens to hundreds to thousands really soon.

Theres points that equal up to a rep. So I think your 16 rep power will be 16 points for that person, and every 25 points I think it is will inscrease their rep power by one. Maybe I'm wrong, idk =\

Did you rep some who has been here awhile but had no rep? Ive seen for some reason that people who've been members for a long time have no rep until they receive some. Then it jumps alot because of the way the new system is setup (how many days since membership, etc).

Rep power is given to the repped person by points. For instance if I rep you, you will receive 48 points. Now if you had 10 points + 48 =58. 50 points equals 1 rep power.

ahhh I see.

Yes, I repped someone who has been a member for a long time and has several hundred posts. They recently returned and had no rep. When I repped them, theirs went from 0 to 16, but I'd never seen that happen before. Thanks Tony, that makes sense.

I get more reps in the gym than I have here.

I need to give out more reps, I've been pretty selective about it. Then maybe I'll get more than 0 reps.

I got one of those today, they don't do anything because the person has no repping power, they're a nice gesture though

Maybe that's true then.
I wonder why you're a jewel in the rough and I have a spectacular aura when we have the same number of bars?

sort of an energy that glows around a person. If someone is very charming for example, whenever you are with or near he/she you feel good. Then you say they have a charming good aura.

However, i think the true "aura" is from some religiones. Its energy around a person which some can see, and it tells you the state of mind of the person, how they are feeling etc..

Gray ones do nothing. I see it that you get an extra bar for every 100 points on the 00 (200, 300, 400, etc) but you're title changes on the 50 (250, 350, 450).
