What a joke from the Leeds coach of england.

"Tonight, I think we have seen without question England and the Super League have, indisputably, the world's best rugby league team"

I cant honestly beleive that he and im sure many english people actually believe that. If Leeds played melbourne they would have got smashed at least 30nil on the NRL grand final. In the match yesterday it was almost their b side. Missing the worlds best player, and at least 5 high star players..

The disadvantage from the australian sides

- its during our off season
- They take it more of a trial match being cautious not to injure any players for the coming season.
- Played in dismal conditions, freezing cold windy wet typical english conditions.
- A lot of players leave the team after their grand final so the team that ends up in england is usually only half the original team, unlike the english team who just finishes their own season, with all their players available and optimal match fitness and home advantage.

Ohh no it wasnt a national game, they never beat us at that haha

I mean club challange as in the winner of our competetion verse the winner of their competition (like new york yankees verse hiroshima from japan), which ended up being Leeds vs Melbourne. An excuse? well whatever it is its justifiable, our team always plays up there and more often than that loses so its not like a one off complaining kind of thing.

No one doubts our competetion is wayyyy more stronger (which is why they always offer a very large amount of money to get some of our players)

I just think its naive for the coach to think he has the best team in the world considering all the advanatges they have every year the game is played and the disadvantage on the otherside. But anyway, i dont think many people follow the game on here anway... maybe NBS and few english guys like ccr and evo

From what I've seen of Rugby, it's a shame it's not more popular in the states.

Yeah its ashame that America's dominant sports are basically only played by themselves. I mean you dont have rugby union, rugby league (which the topic is about, a lot of people get confused), cricket etc that countries like aust, england, france, new zealand, south africa etc always play each other in. A lot of great rivalries.
