After some late night drinking with the gay best friend, we decide to stop at Clarkes to visit my old roommate and get some snacks. As soon as we get there, we notice a large crowd of people screaming at each other in the street, near the front door. A squad car then pulled up and did a u-turn out front with its lights on, so the crowd somewhat dispersed. Friend and I go into the restaurant. No sooner then we are seated in the bar area, do we see a black tranny (aka African American Transvestite) run down the sidewalk out front carrying a very large metal shovel. This was followed by a large crash and glass breaking. We jump up from our table and go to the front door, whose window has just been smashed out. The black tranny is now running around in the street at the corner that Clarkes is on, swinging the shovel wildly above his/her head. At this point, I would like to mention that the tranny is wearing daisy dukes that have slipped down to mid-thigh, completely exposing a black thong. People from the crowd try to approach the crazy and he/she keeps wildly swinging the shovel. Some guy kicks him/her in the ass, so she drops the shovel to chase him. I then tell one of the Clarkes waiters standing outside to go grab the shovel, which he trys to do. The he/she notices and runs to get the shovel, picks it up and then runs over to Clarkes and proceeds to smash out EVERY SINGLE WINDOW facing the street. Then he/she runs to the front and jumps up on a parked car and then smashes out the front windshield. He/she then jumps down from the car and is finally tackled by a very muscular guy. The shovel is knocked loose and picked up by someone. The he/she is now on the ground and a group of about 10 people proceed to kick and stomp him/her while he/she is on the ground. Finally (this whole incident has been going on for a good 5 minutes) the police arrive and the tranny jumps up, not even effected by the beat down he/she just got, and grabs the shovel, which some how was put back on the ground. The tranny runs towards the squad car, shovel raised, and the police jump out with guns drawn. Tranny drops the shovel and police put her in cuffs, as he/she screams at the crowd gathered to watch. Someone yells out "Crack is whack" and the tranny yells "I love crack! Who got's some?"

Aftermath- Everyone has run out of Clarkes. Tables are full of food and glass. Some very fem gay guy is standing there with his gay friends, screaming that his ear is bleeding and what is somebody going to do about it. "Oh my GAWD! I am going to die." "Girl, pull yourself together! You're not going to die!" Some Polish woman is screaming that someone stole her purse and she isn't leaving until it turns up. She keeps screaming at everyone in Polish. The police come in and start filling out reports and taping off the front doors and windows with crime scene tape. The best friend and I help ourselves to ice-cream sundaes from the back freezer, as every Clarkes employee is gathered out front talking to police.

My ex-roommate has worked at Clarkes for over 3 years and he agrees that this was definitely the craziest **** that has ever gone down there. I feel guilty saying this but I was laughing almost the entire time this was happening, because of the black thong and the package almost coming out. I am a little concerned with how long it took the police to get there, especially considering they hang out right out front under the El tracks all the time.. The whole thing was very surreal and now you know why every window in Clarkes is smashed out.

Speaking of employees, I think it's funny to note that one of the cooks is a very large, muscular guy that doesn't speak any English. He heard all the screaming, came out, saw all the flying glass, and hit the floor with his arms and legs spread out in a big X and didn't move for 5 minutes. He thought the restaurant was being shot out by machine guns. Now all the other cooks are teasing him.

Lol..no, I came across this site online...it's a local site for Chicagoans(?) and at first I did not believe it till the locals started talking about their personal experience eating at that place ... that happened last year and I absolutely could not get it out of my mind how funny it is. So I had to post it

HA! That wasn't me telling the story, it's a Chicago native from that place. Lol..she claimed she left money so it wasn't free, tell you what, the tranny is a local there...you take a vacation with me and if there's a next Tranny Gone Wild outbreak, we position ourselves in the back of the kitchen for the freebie..
