Am I the only one who stays at home on vacations? I mean I guess I understand the concept of traveling to places. But growing up, I pretty much went around the world twice and everywhere you go, it's the same. As a matter of fact, one time I went to the Bahamas for our senior trip. I was very disappointed. I thought I was going to see native peoples and all that. Instead, at Freeport or whatever island we were on, I saw a papa johns and McDonalds. I was very disappointed and the only native thing I saw was a rock that I nearly hit while we were driving like crazy with the jet ski.

Hmm not certain. Most likely someplace along the East Coast. We went to St. Martin in December and Clearwater, FL last month.

That's funny! LOL! I like to just stay home too sometimes and just relax or do fun things in the area when i don't feel like lugging bags around and flying. So far though I've been too florida, bahamas, new orleans, arizona, san diego, maine, niagra falls. new orleans was my favorite trip! i think next i want to go to italy. not sure what we are doing this year though, maybe just chillin out.

I do an annual fishing / drinking trip with my buddies thats at the end of June

Will do a family trip someplace within the great state of Michigan in July.

    Probably to Mackinac Island.

3 kids = no money for big vacations.

Michigan is fun. Have you been to Canada yet? I went last year for a fishing trip. It was fun thinking back on it, but when I really think hard, we stayed for a total of 96 hours, and of those 96 hours, we spend maybe 5 hours actually fishing (i.e. dropping a line and catching something). That means in all that time, we spent roughly 5% of the time fishing, and not only that we left a day earlier, so that means we paid for 120 hours, and spent roughly 4% of it actually fishing. Knowing this, I've decided it's probably not a good idea to go hunting since I'll just be wasting a lot of money and probably come home pretty mad. I rather stay around with the family and not spend a whole lot of money doing pretty much nothing.

when kids are involved you can make even the cheesiest vacations fun.
Might make a side trip to the sand dunes too. Kids should really like that.

This July for 2-3 weeks I will be going on a Euro trip. Visiting countries such as France, Germany, Switzerland, and all those nearby countries.

I'm planning on doing an Olympic length triathlon in Boulder City, NV, which is just outside of Lost Wages in October. The wife will go with me and we'll probably stay in a strip casino.

BTW, I can't recall how many men have asked me early in a training class where
the nearest strip club is. Unfortunately, I never know because that is not my cup of tea.

Well, our move back home to San Francisco is taking up all our vacation funds for this year! But since I can't wait to get out of England and return to sunny California, I'm happy!

I will be spending 4 days in the Nevada desert for Burning Man in August. That is my only vacation for this year. This move is gonna be expen$ive!!

Last year we spent ten days in Spain (Ibiza & Barcelona) and a weekend in Budapest, Hungary. We will be going back to Ibiza next summer.

Most beautiful amazing island, can't wait to return! Stay away from San Antonio except to watch the sunset at Cafe Del Mar. It's horribly touristy!

Hubby and I are going with my parents, sister & her hubby, and other sister & boyfriend to the boundary waters (aka northern Minnesota). We are going to be backpacking, canoeing and camping. I'm looking foward to a vacation that we will be exercising the whole time, instead of trying to figure out when I can get to the exercise room in a motel. Only downside, I hate fish, and we are catching all of our food and there will be no bathrooms!

Do you guys usually go on active vacations or do you use it as an excuse to get away from exercising?
