advice on workout plan

Hey all, not sure if this is the right section to post. If its wrong, feel free to move.

Ok, I really never do more than the occasional workout, but making a plan up now to follow. Basically, it has no weights as of now. So just running, push-ups, pull-ups, dips, stretches, etc. Basically, any exercise that you can do without weights. Goals are faster at sprinting, better upper body, and stronger heart. I know what exercises I am going to do, but not sure how to break up the days. Was thinking something like this so far.

Day 1: light jog, chest, shoulders, triceps - push up/dip type exercises

Day 2: light jog, back, biceps, stomach - pull/chin up, crunch type exercises

Day 3: This day will be a bit more running along with sprinting and exercises to strengthen legs

Some stretching all days.

Repeat

So what does anyone think? Is it too much to work like this every day? Upper body is ok, but not sure about legs since they will be used every day. But then again its only jog for day 1 and 2. So not sure.

Any ideas or comments are welcome.

thanks

Visit www.trainforstrength.com Scrapper has some badass workouts that don't require a bunch of weights.

Also google Burpees
You need some single leg squats or something for your legs.

I didn't realize how much info could be found from this site before posting. Should have looked around a bit before posting.

Thanks for that site though.

I did attempt one of his workouts only to realize one thing, I need to slow down. I have been on methadone for 5 years. Constantly been trying to get off for some years now and always have failed. So I read that exercising will build up natural endorphins and make it easier to come off. I used to smoke as well. I would always start to exercise, but figure what is the point if I smoked, so would stop and tell myself I need to quit smoking first. Was always a stupid cycle. So finally quit smoking 2 weeks ago. I guess you could say I am a somewhat a 'ectomorph', but now that I quit smoking my appetite has kicked in majorly and already gaining weight. Have more energy to exercise also. Methadone fatigues the hell out of you. Every side effect of that drug sucks actually. Even so, without the cigarettes, my energy has increased, definitely enough to exercise a bit. Just going to take it slow right now. Push-up, pull-ups, dips, crunches, stretches. Not even going to run yet. Walking is fine. At least for the first month or so just to build up my body a bit before jumping into some kind of hardcore scrapper workout. And work on eating the right things right now too. I am 26, and wrestled in school and was a pretty fast runner, got perfect scores in all the test they gave us, could pretty much keep up with anyone in anything stamina wise. I was always active though. In my mind I want to jump right back into how I used to be, but that isnt reasonable and will probably end up hurting myself. Have only had the occasional workout at a friends house or something for the past few years. So just need to take it slow for now. I know you gain a nice boost over the first month or so. So after I get that, can step it up a bit.

If anyone wants to add anything that will be fine, but really not needed. There is plenty of stuff for me to read already.

Thanks for reading.

methadone is an analgesic, oral or injected available only thru perscription. in other words its a pain killer. a potent one what it does is relieve pain by altering perception of noniceptive stimuli without producing loss of consiousness. its also used for opidate dependance, but i gather here its used is for the former, as a pain killer. its kinda like demoral or moriphine, highly addictive and highly effective. thats a tough one your isn't helping you on this one?? i would try switching doctors see if there is something else they can give you to get you off the methadone without the withdrawl being so bad. that sucks the big one. i wish u much luck with that i know how tough that is to get off.

No, actually for opiate dependance. Go to a clinic for it. Clinics aren't really much help. The doctors are pretty much non-existent there and the only thing they will recommend is to raise teh dose. There really is no answer for getting off of methadone actually from what I gather. 40mg is not enough to hold over the average person, let alone 20mg. So its just a pointless cycle. There is Buprenorphine though. If my current plan doesn't work, then I will try that. I have tried cold turkey a few times. I made it 4 days once and foolishly went back. At 40mg currently, so not at a terrribly high dose. Plan is to go down 2mg a week with exercise until I feel it. Can probably get close to 10mg I think. Then kick cold turkey with clonidine. With a little over 3 months with plenty of exercise, hopefull my body will be ready to rock and roll and will barely feel the withdrawal. I am no stranger to opiate withdrawal, but definitely something I fear and would love to avoid as much as possible.

well thats even crappier then well i hope you can make it, i know the pain it is to go thru withdrawl. it is horrible feeling, but it only lasts for a short time if you can make it thru it. i send my best to you on the long journey you have ahead and pray this time you do it.

So, just wanted to update. I kicked the meth. Last saturday, I just screw it and stopped taking it. Withdrawal has been hell. Its day 9 and feeling better.

Need to work out to rebuild my endorphins. But still too weak right now. Hard to even climb the stairs to be honest.

Need to eat tons of fruits and vegetables, and excerise like crazy, and maybe can come out unscathed.

Feel like I am starting a new life, was dependent on opiates for 7 years!!!

But definitely excited to work out when my strength comes back. Maybe 1 more week or so.

Drinking mass fluids to get this garbage out of me.
