Do I Really need the WHEY PROTEIN after my workout?
I usually take it first thing in the morning along with some water, oats, flaxeed oil, and calcium pill.
then i go and do my LIGHT weights and strengthening exercises for about 1 hour. Aren't those protein shakes meant for the bodybuilders who use heavy weights? I'm using like 3lbs dumbells.
i then sprinkle some of the whey protein powder on my cereal.
My goal is gain muscle. I'm 15, 5'4, 118lbs. So should I just stop taking it? (my mom was talking to my aunt who used to bodybuild, and she said i shouldn't be taking it. it'll make fat! ) Do I really need the extra protein?
I do weights about 3x/week. The other days I do H.I.I.T. in the morning and i take the protein shake aswell. is that "right"?
Thanks,
Jenn

A protein source with carbohydrates should be consumed immediately following your resistance training session whether its whey protein shake or whole foods.

Why light weights as opposed to heavy weights? Protein is protein in a sense, whether it is from a shake or food and anyone may consume it.
Are those 'light weights' difficult enough that the workout is challenging?

Right now the 'light weights' are challenging. but i do want to buy heavier ones evenually.
do i really need that much protein even if i'm just using these dinky light weights? i can't join a gym until next spring, so there's no way i can get a hold of "heavy" weights that are like 30lbs.

whey protein itself will not make you fat. its the total amount of calories you eat versus what you burn

unused protien will be stored as fat, if your body doesnt need it to recover it wont use it.
dinky little weights wont do much for you in gaining any significant size. you should be using wieghts where 8-10 reps is failure.
