Many are selfemployed, so there is no way to put an average on it, it depends on your customers, how good you are, how well addvertised, competition.

The very very good ones end up opening there own gyms and hotels.
The bad ones/unlucky ones end up finding another job.

Some gyms pay trainers as employees, some are self employed and pay a commission to the gym. Training rates also vary by area. Larger cities tend to be higher.

I do know that Jackie Warner from Bravo's "Work Out" charges $400.00 with her clients. Then again she is in a big city (Los Angeles...Beverly Hills to be precise).

At my local gym the lowest is around £35 per hour. Highest is around £80. Some guy came over once though, to help the tennis squad work on something and he was getting £150 per hour session. So yeah, if your good you get good money. If your not so good, but go to some expensive leisure club then you still get good money.
