Jump roping

I'm interested in starting to excercise with a jump rope. Does it make any difference if I use a 3 dollar kmart rope, or a 30 dollar "pro" rope?

If anyone has any recommendations on what I should get, please let me know.

Thanks!

Same here, I spent under $10 at Big 5 for a great rope: wood handles with the bearings that prevent the rope from tangling.

It is good endurance-building, high intensity cardio work. That's how all the old school boxers trained... so if you're worried about looking like a big girl, just think of Rocky Marciano, arguably the greatest boxer of all time. His punch was scientifically proven to pack more punch than an armour-piercing bullet.

Mines rope with wood handles - not only does it work great but it looks cool too.
