Overtraining??

Hey everyone I'm new to this forum..I play rugby at a fairly high level and we're just beginning our pre-season work..this is my regular training schedule, I'm just wondering if any of you guys think I'm overtraining or should I make some adjustments, any advice would be greatly appreciated!
Monday: Full weights session- Bench press, olympic lifts, bicep and tricep work, squats, lunges, core work. All pyramid sets.

Tuesday: Team practice- usually ball drills and sprints

Wednesday: Full weights session

Thursday: Plyometrics session, Upper body weights as on Monday

Friday: Team practice

Saturday: Speed workout- 10m,20m,30m sprints x10, also light plyometric work if no game the following day

Sunday: Game or running session consisting of 8 or 10 40m shuttle sprints and 4 200m sprints

I do core work everyday and take creatine before my workouts on monday, wednesday, thursday, and saturday. I take whey protein powder after all workouts.

What do ye think..any changes needed?

Well there are few things that come to my mind....

I am assuming that when you say pre-season you are in some sort of training camp, or are only a week or two from the season

1) I would get rid of "Bi and Tri Work" and include some back exercises in stead.
2) I don't really think you need any plyo's/agility/or speed work with 2 practice session anmd a game every week. If your coaching staff is any good you will be covering all of those things during these events.
3) How intensly are you lifting? This close to the season isn't really the time to be going for big gains. If you are just maintaining your gains from the off-season then you'll be fine.
4) Use other forms of active reat outside of rugby on Thursday or Sat. Swim, ride a bike, play basketball with friends, anything like that. Helps to keep the body loose and relax your mind a bit (Very important and often over looker)

So if you cut those speed and plyo sessions, as well as keep the proper lifting mind set I think you'd be alright. But that's just my opinion.

Good luck

Hey man thanks for your advice..sounds good.
At the moment we're about eight weeks from the start of our competitive season..we're just playing practice matches every 2/3 weeks.
Think you're right about cutting the plyo..we are doing a bit of that in training camp.
Thanks
