too thin, need to bulk up Okay, so I tried veganism for a cause and because I'm in the military, I had to go back to eating meat. I'm currently 5'11" and 130 lbs. My matabolism is too high. I can eat a whole pizza and be hungry the next hour. I wanted to know how can I gain more weight and get a little bulkier? Any suggestions would greatly appreciated. Thanks -
Eat whenever possible... 6-7 meals a day. Eat a lot! Lift heavy weights using compound moves (Deadlift, squat, bench, pullups, etc). -
ur too light bro, at 5'11 , u should be around 160ish - 180ish,
i'm 5'11 and i'm 175 lbs with 9% body fat, i'm continuing to lose body fat as we speak.
if u want to gain. u need to start eating MORE, not just more, u need to eat the right foods, no more junk food like pizza and stuff. these foods u should definitely avoid as they contain *LESS THEN MINIMAL* the nutrients for muscle growth. u need protein and fiber man as well as the good fat like omegas, fish oils. etc.
for your size, u should eat like 3000 calories a day. u should start counting! -

I agree with joey007, eat, eat, eat!! Good stuff, high protein, good sources carbs, fats, and fiber. After you train hard, and it's gotta be hard and heavy. Make sure it's heavy for you, not the guy next to you. make sure you get a good 7-8 hours sleep at night. You may want to eat some real lean protein 20-30min befor you go to bed to help feed your muscles throughout the night. I have trained a lot of small fighters wanting to move up in weight a class or 2.

Don't just binge here and there.....The tough thing about the military is you can't just eat whenevr....so focus on getting a meal in you every 2-4 hours if at all possible......if not get some decent supplements to make due. Similar Threads -
