| | | Upper vs Lower Body Routine Variations I'm reading alot about incorporating both the upper and lower body workouts into one's routine, which have raised these questions:
1) What can be a benefit/drawback to doing a comlpete body workout everytime I hit the gym?
2) Should I concentrate more on particular movements that combine upper/lower body excercises (push/pull/twist/etc) into one workout or should I divide the upper from the lower by different days?
3) I've read about the 8 movements of liftng, but there is also 6, which is better?
4) Is N.R.O.L. an easy read?
Thanks!

| | | 1a. Benefits: frequency which almost always produces better results.
1b. Drawbacks: don't know of any. With a good program, there are none.
2. I think this matters mostly on personal taste. I used to do a push/pull split, now I'm doing a full-body.
3. Six is the minimum, I don't know what the eight are.
4. It's an entertaining read as well as informative. |

| | | I red a little N.R.O.L. today, and lemmie tell you, these are same things my father told me when I first started lifting. He raved about the squat, deadlift, and bentover pull, and he hated the machines! He started lifting in the early fifties, so I guess if it ain't broke, don't fix it. I'm definately gonna buy that boook come pay day. Now, all I need is a good nutritional book to jump start my diet. |

| | | Depends on how much you want to spend. There is "Precision Nutrition" and "Gourmet Nutrition." GN is a book of recipes, plus a lead-in on diet strategy. PN includes GN.
PN is about $100, includes GN, two DVDs, two audio CDs and strategy and breakdown guide all in a three ring binder. |

| | | How about these?
"Burn the Fat, Feed the Muscle" by Tom Venuto
"Understanding Bodybuilding Nutrition and Training" by Chris Aceto
"The Abs Diet Eat Right Everytime Guide" by David Zinczeko
Hundred bucks is not in the books right now. Something like $40 or less. |

| | | I know the names Venuto and Zinczeko. The abs diet is a good choice. However, I don't have experience with any of those three, but I've seen the results of people on the ABS diet,FWIW. | | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | | | Display Modes | Rate This Thread | Linear Mode | |
