asthmatic cardio?

I have asthma
But I wanna be able to do amazing cardio sessions without needing my inhalor, or having to bend over because I'm so out of breath.

I need suggestions!!
someones gotta know something that can help me.

Have you asked a doctor about it?

I had very bad asthma right up until I was 16. Thankfully, I grew out of it since then however I DEF feel your pain.

Have you tried using the elliptical machine for your cardio sessions?

LV: Yes. it tends to work out better, except not now. I have to sign up for the gym to get the eliptical because the one i was using was at my moms house...and I don't live there anymore.

Derwyddon: I'm 18. 19 next month. what are yougetting me? kidding!

What asthma mendication are you on? Your doctor should have you on two different inhalers - a preventor and a reliever. I'm currently on Symbicort (Symbicort.com - asthma medication with budesonide and formoterol in a single inhaler) which is a really good preventer and I'm finding that I don't use my releiver (Ventolin) much at all.

For a period I stopped taking the Symbicort and things got worse and I was needing the Ventolin multiple times a day.

hey sweetie....I dont know what kinda medication you are taking for your asthma, but the doc should have never told you "dont run" unless you have some kind of deathly case or something extreme like that.
I also have asthma and have had it since I was about 6 yrs old....im 31 now and the best thing that has ever happened to me was my doc putting me on the advair disk. I hardly ever use my inhaler anymore and It has been the best thing I have ever done for the asthma. You may mention this to ur doctor and give it a try...It has done wonders for me!!!

Lots of people with asthma run. I'm one of them. My symptoms have almost vanished in the last few years though.

Try a pulmonary specialist instead of your regular doc.
