Increased speed/acceleration?

Hi

I was wondering if anyone could give some tips that could help me increase my speed and acceleration?

About 5 years ago (at age 16/17) I could run 100m in sub 11.5s, and obviously had a good degree of acceleration to do this.

I've put on a bit of weight since then ("a bit" is probably an understatement, but I'm working on that!) but can anyone suggest some simple gym routines/exercises to improve my sprinting speed and acceleration - without detracting from it by drastic increase in muscle mass on legs?

Thanks very much

Chris
