| | | iPOD used when running/jogging I am not a genuis when it comes to electronics so I am posting this here to see if anyone knows anything about iPOD Shuffle. Its a cheaper iPOD, runs about $79 online anyway, and it holds about 250 songs I think. I thought about getting this one for when I jog because otherwise I wont really use the thing.
So, does anyone have one? Does anyone have a musical box that they use when jogging/running that they like? |

| | | Shuffle is very small so it is convenient to wear. You don't get to select which song or sequence you want. It keeps playing at random. It's got decent battery life. It doesn't have FM radio tuner. Sometimes those earphone wires may distract you but that can happen with any player. |

| | I have a shuffle and really like it -- just wish I could find a headset that I liked. I think I've spent more on headsets then the ipod itself
It holds plenty of songs for working out, and is very easy to use. I use the lanyard for around the neck, but if you are running, you may opt for an arm band or something that is more stable.
I think for the price, it's definitely worth it. |

| | iPod Nano I love my 4GB iPod Nano! It is great for running and I loaded all my favorite albums and still have 3GB of space left! It doesn't skip at all and I love the lock feature for working out. |

| | | I have a shuffle and the shuffle arm band it funds under the sleeve of a shirt so you dont look like a tosser walking round with a normal ipod on an armband (no offence to anyone) I put mine on sequence rather than shuffle so I know what songs are coming up.
Its gravy. |

| | | I got last yrs 20 G ipod and keep it in my jogging pants and constantly freezes up on me, does it pay to get one of those arm bands to hold it. and forget about shorts, it bounces so hard against my thighs, i develop bruise marks after the jog. and re headphones, those 'in-ear' are an every 5 min ordeal of re adjusting that thing to stay in there.. |

| | i have a 20g iPod and its my baby. i use it a lot but i found it completely useless when training as its too big, bounces around a lot, gets in the way and also provides to much of a distraction.
instead i bought myself a creative zen nano 512mb and its brilliant. even though it uses an AAA battery (4 weeks of use still half full!) its so small and light you can forget its there. i hang it around my neck for cardio and weights.
i got mine off ebay from creatives ebay warehouse. i paid 28 quid and you can get the 1gig for not much more.
its stores plenty to keep you going, its really quick to transfer songs and the sound quality is even better than the iPod. its also easy to use and a tough little bugger. you dont have to shuffle, it has an lcd screen and has a radio.
and no, i dont work for creative! i bought my ex one and also got my dad one. for info look below ZEN Nano Plus - 1GB MP3 flash player stores 500 songs and comes available in 10 colors
for the record, mines white, partly because it was the first i saw on ebay uk and partly because (and this is sad) it matched my ipod and all my headphones. |

The 20GB Ipod has an actual hard drive inside which means alot of things are moving around inside the device. The Ipod could get damaged easily when running.
The nano and shuffle use the flash drive technology which is better suited for running. |

I need music so I do lug the thing and usually hold it in my hand, but it's a real pain. As someone mentioned above, they use their cell phone. I do have the Sony Erickson wi600 and it holds 512MB, so a nice chunk of songs, it's a bit smaller too, I'll give that a try.
