Are PT Boots really bad for my feet?

Im doing a Navy Seal inspired workout to help get in to top shape for the police academy i am going to go through and in the work out it says "do all lifting and running in BDU's and boots"

Im all for that because i will have to do the training at the academy in boots and such but its like 8 months away. Should i start running in boots or just use my regular running shoes and switch to boots at the academy?

If it were me, I'd start in boots. I think the transition over might be harder later on. And I'm sure there'll be a lot of people who'll get there thinking it'll be no sweat to just switch to boots...you'd be miles ahead of all those people.
