Question on unknown injury or strain....

After my run last night I noticed my right knee and upper rear thigh to be a little tight and weak. I stretched and then took a motrin for the night. Today I tried to jog a little to see how it felt and behind my knee feels tight and it sends a pain up the back side of my thigh. Any ideas on what this might be??? Hopefully just a strain or pulled muscle. I plan on giving it a rest today or maybe just try walking for a few days. I have been injury free for 11 or so months so I am really hoping this is just from overuse. I have been pretty strict on my running regimine for the last few months and now the weather is finally getting nice so I hope I am not sidelined for too long.

Any suggestions???

Thanks.

rest and release

Hey Gimpy,
First off, I would give your body a break. It is trying to tell you that you need to slow down. It sounds like you did the right things, by taking a motrin and stretching. Do you have a roam roller? I would try stretching with that and give it a rest for a couple of days. If this persists, you may want to see a doctor, but I'm sure you will be fine.
