| | I'd find this thread kind of funny if it wasn't so horrifying.
People are completely right in telling you that running with weights is not a good idea. But then they suggest putting a treadmill at an incline and jumping on it while it's going at 10mph.? And that's a good alternative.
No, that's the best way to get yourself hurt I've ever heard of. Don't do that. Ever. |

No, that's the best way to get yourself hurt I've ever heard of. Don't do that. Ever. | So running on a treadmill with an incline is dangeoraus, how?
I get that running does include some risks (what activity doesn't?) but individuals of normal weight doesn't have to worry much about impact damage from running, atleast not if they've got a decent pair of shoes.
I just don't get the argument at all. How is running so bad? It's one of the most basic activities we were designed to do. |

| | | Running in and of itself is probably the highest impact cardio exercise out there. Because of this, there is always the chance for injury or damage, particularly at the knee and ankle joints. However, it is also extremely effective and accessible. So long as you don't have predispositions to specific leg related injuries (such as my own broke ass knee), it's an ideal and accessible aerobic exercise. |

Far better to find a machine with programmable interval training instead. |

Normally what I do is set it to a 30% incline and start as the belt speeds up to 3.0-3.5 mph. I wanna get fit, not sand the skin off my body. | | | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | | | Display Modes | Rate This Thread | Linear Mode | |
