Indyrockrules, you need to read around the board a little hon! Lots of info here on
HIIT. Awesome form of cardio for fat loss.
High-intensity interval training (
HIIT) is intended to improve performance with short training sessions.
HIIT 'sessions' are becoming very popular among today's athletes .
Studies have been done about the benefits of
HIIT. A session involves a warmup period, several short, maximum-intensity efforts separated by moderate recovery intervals, and a cool-down period. The period of alternating effort and recovery intervals typically lasts a total of 15 minutes.
Studies have shown this method to be more effective at burning fat while maintaining muscle mass compared to long duration, low intensity workouts.
Research shows that high- intensity activity is actually more effective. If you add intervals of high and low periods, fat-burning increases.
The energy cost of
HIIT is much greater than that of aerobic exercise. When
HIIT is properly performed, you will get great results!!
