| | Because I am ridiculously feminine I like to wear skirts when I run, and the company I buy my running skirts from makes triathlon skirts and suits. running skirt, running skirts, running skorts, running skort, marathongirl, marathon girl, gymgirl, gym girl I only have their running skirts, so I couldn't tell you much about the triathlon suits. The skirts are awesome though, and some of their tops are really good too. |

| | | 2XU makes an awesome trisuit. I have the Super Elite and the Endurance Trisuit. Zoot is pretty good, too. Personally, the one pieces are a lot more comfortable, and you can slip in and out of a wetsuit a lot easier/faster so your transition times will be better.
Make sure it's tight. And I mean VERY tight, but not restricting your breathing. Getting the trisuit on should not be easy. Do you not have a store in your area that caters to triathletes? Without trying the suit on and having somebody else with you who knows how they should fit will make it difficult for you to get a really good fit. They do stretch in the water ...
And buy some body glide to put under your armpits and in between your thighs.
If you need a wetsuit, spend the extra money and get a 2XU. They are unbelievable. I have to wear a mens small because I'm too broad in the chest/shoulders to fit the womens. I suggest the C:1 or the V:1. Those are an absolute dream to swim in. |

| | | You are just looking for tri suits right? not wetsuits? Its true that you should find somewhere you can try them on first. I wouldn't purchase them from the nearby retailer (very expensive) but it helps to know size because they are a little different than regular clothes and it really needs to be comfortable. Once you know a brand thats comfy and the size you can easily look through ebay to find something more affordable.
Many people use a tri suit 0-1 time for their one shot at the triathlon and then move on and sell it. Its worth looking. the one pieces are best for transitions of course, but completely unflattering (not that its a beauty contest, but still!) next best bet are tri shorts and shirt (with zipper)-as long as you are wearing them under a wet suit, the 2 piece deal is perfectly fine. If you're going to go without a wetsuit I'd recommend the one piece. | | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | | | Display Modes | Rate This Thread | Linear Mode | |
