hopefully one day i will be up to training for a half marathon! that would be the biggest achievement for me!
i think i will stick to 9.5km/hr until i have built up to 10km runs and then i will work on increasing speed.
I usually go up to 12-13km/hr for the last 2 mins or so.

How long will it take before i see a difference in weight and body?
Ive only been running for a week so far and i think i have actually gained weight on the scales!

im planning on running 35 mins 2-3 times a week and 15-20 mins 2 times a week.

Go for interval training, tempo running, and fartlek, you will enjoy the results, you will improve your cardiovascular system a lot.

How quickly you see the results in your body can really depend on your nutrition. How are you eating? I personally recommend eating up to 6 small meals a day to keep your metabolism pumping and making sure you have carbs and protein in each of these meals.

i have a new goal now though, i want to work up to 10km run on the treadmill at 9.5km/hr.
i ran 6.5km today so still a fair way to go but considering a week ago the most i had run was like hmmmmmm 1.5 or 2km im doing alright =]

is a jog on treadmill at 9.5km/hr really slow?
im 164cm tall if that affects anything
I wouldn't focus on the numbers. Get into a routine, stay consistent, and everything will fall into place.

That's fantastic, obviously you have the endurance on your side! Have you considered just going for 10 minute runs outside so you get used to the feeling? I used to think outdoor running was such a struggle but I can't believe how quickly my body adjusted to it.

yeh im thinking i will go attempt to run a lap of this lake in a week or so when im on holidays, it is only 3km though so hopefully i will be able to do it
i think outdoor running kills me coz at the gym im able to listen to my ipod to keep me entertained whereas outside im more focusing on how much im dying lol
though i have found that the first 5-10 mins is the worst so as long as i keep that in mind i should be able to motivate myself to keep going outside too.
running a lap of the lake has been a goal of mine for agessssssssssss and it has taken me forever to actually do anything about reaching it so it will be very exciting when i can finaly do it
ive also been thinking once i get into outdoor running i want to find a 5km or even 10km fun run sort of thing to do, another goal to reach i guess hah
