| | | Dance Club Ringing Hey all. Was wondering if anyone has got "ringing ears" before that has lasted more than a few hours? I was at a dance club and got too close to the speakers. I don't know if it will go away or when it will go away. Hopefully, it won't last.
Thanks,
Ricky |

| | I have had ringing ears many times from concernts. It does go away. Kind of makes it hard to sleep if its right before you go to bed though, unless you get drunk and pass out like I used to do in my younger days . |

| | | I got ringing at a concert a couple of weeks ago, it went away by morning and usually does. I used to get that all the time when I played in a band, most musicians these days wear ear plugs and now I do to, even sometimes at shows when I am thinking in advance.
It's very bad for your long term hearing to expose yourself to that. Don't want to end up with tinnitis then the ringing comes on at random times with no exposure or any ther triggers and they can't do much about it.
The military takes a large dose of antioxidants after shooting cannons and stuff, it is supposed to reduce the chances of long term damage. |

| | | Mine has lasted for a couple days and doesn't seem to be getting better. I never even heard of it before thats the part that gets 2 me. I don't know if i should just wait it out or go do something. I was near the speakers at the dance club. I didn't think much of it considering there was 40 other people right next to me and 30 people even closer than me. |

| | | I've been to clubs with DJ friends and just for dancing. I've spent hours near 18+ inch subs and have left to go home with my ears ringing and feeling muffled. This will last you about 3 days until you can hear. Don't be silly like me, my mates have shouted in my ears many times in the night clubs and i have noticed a drop in my ears sensitivity. I also now have a 130 db+ full car stereo that i have just purchased and which is louder than club music and i get headaches from it when i crank the jam ear plugs are the best idea if your super worried or just dont hang so close to the speakers.
Regards,
-Jason |

| | | I've been playing in a band since I was about 12. Up until six months ago, I never wore earplugs. It sucks that your hearing can't repair itself like some areas of the body.
Anyway, I work around jet engines so some loss is inevitable even with ear protection. |

| | | That's happened to me (and it's one of the main reasons I avoid going to clubs for the most part). The ringing usually lasts about a day or two (depending on how close I was to the speakers). | | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | | | Display Modes | Rate This Thread | Linear Mode | |
