    Question Creatine & Amino Acids

    I have heard the problems with taking over the recomended limit with creatine & was wondering if any of you knew if I was to take Amino Acids at the same time as the creatine would this infact take me over the limit on the recomended qty's. i.e. Is the problems related between creatine & kidneys caused also by the amount of Amino acids in the system?

    taking creatine and aminos together is fine. problems with kidneys and creatine would be more a matter of improper water intake.

    Smile Water intake

    Thanks abear for the help,

    Just out of interest is it possible to have too much water & flush the creatine through your system - if so how much would u recomend a day?

    never heard of that happening. if you mean creatine, 5 grams a day is enough. for water, when taking creatine you'll find most ppl doing a gallon a day. thats what i do.

    Meat and fish are loaded with amino acids and creatine. Why buy it? It's much easier to just eat your lunch. Unless you have some unusual health problem there is no need for supplements. If you have some need, ask a doctor or a registered dietician - not a message board. It's very unlikely that you need to "take" either creatine or amino acids. They are simply snake oil.

    thats kinda true. solid food should always be the first choice.

    but creatine as a snake oil is a poor choice of words. its the most studied nutritional supplement ever and has a history of documented studies behind it. besides uses for sports nutrition, creatine is being used for neuromuscular diseases, neurological protection/brain injury and heart function.

    besides my family doctor uses creatine. thats why i go to him and not the one across town who smokes and is overweight.
