Creatine and Weightloss

Right now my goal #1 is to loose weight, but I'm also lifting weights. I'm lifting 3-4 times/week and doing cardio 3 times/week.

Eventually I'd like to be built. But I'm debating on whether I should take Creatine now, or wait until I loose some weight. I know that Creatine increases your weight because it makes you retain water, but does it make you look fatter?

I'm 5'5" weighing 180 lbs, male.

it shouldnt make you look fatter. It gives your muscles a bigger and harder look. If you respond to it that is. Theres nothing wrong with taking creatine on a cut.

I haven't used it for quite some time but as I remember it didn't make me look fat. I think it maybe added a pound or two in retained water but nothing significant. I can't see any reason why it would have a detrimental effect on weight loss

Regular creatine needs an adequate amount of water when this is supplemented in the diet. With this in mind, one could gain water weight when taking the supplment, in addition to some other possible side effects (bloating, gas, etc). Make sure its well mixed (because the body has a tendency to having a difficult time digesting regular creatine (thus the possible gas and bloat side effect on some people).

If your gonna supplement Creatine, I suggest Creatine Ethyl Ester. It doesnt have some of the side effects of regular creatine that SOME people get, and its seems easily absorbed by the body due to the different chemical make up, but will provide the same or simuliar benefits one is taking it for.

I dont see any problem taking it on a deficit diet to lose fat weight, if one is akin to the possibly of holding on to some water (which isnt bad anyway-in this sense).

I agree with chillen. people who are used to monohydrate, and then change to ethyl ester report less water retention.

I know ~LV~ has studied his own body and definitely prefers the CEE for that reason.
I know when I stop taking CM, I tend to lose several pounds (obviously water) quite rapidly...like 4-5 pounds in 7-10 days.
