Ephedra. Ephedrine.

Ok.
I used to think these were the same thing. Can someone clear up my confusion please.

Someone in the UK recently told me that Ephedrine has been banned.
Banned from what tho?

I got some recently.

Whats the difference between ephedra and ephedrine?

Thanks sara.
my ephedrine comes in 8mg pills. when I cut I take
E - 24mg
C - 200mg
A - 75mg

I do this for 6-8 weeks. twice a day, 6days on 1 day off.
That sound ok?
Mreik gave me different amount, but this is the closest I can get without crushing up the pills and weighing them out.

If you've been running E to long your receptors will down-regulate, rendering them less effective. If you've been on for more than 6 weeks, I suggest at least a 5wk off period and take benadryl every night the first week.

i thought ephedra was really bad for you. and exercising with it is even WORSE! and if its in ephedrine, why would fitness people want to be taking this??? cuz i heard ephedra itself was banned because of the heart attacks it causes when people are on it and exercise. plus its kind of like speed. im confused. anyone know?

and i know ephedra is very addicting and people end up taking higher doses. so this cant be a good thing...

Don't always believe everything you read in the media.

Most of the studies that show people being affected by ephedrine show that they had other medical issues.

High blood pressure, and high cholesterol among other things cause heart attacks. Ephedrine, when taken within the proper range, does not even contribute.

Dont worry man, I use it for 6 weeks twice a year. I dont use benadryl as I dont have a problem sleeping with it. Should I take it anyway?

As Sara said,
"In a 50 mg dose of ephedra you're getting 0.5 mg of ephedrine."
So ephedrine will bw more harmful than ephedra.

Yeah I understand that it not good for unhealthy people but if you are healthy then it shouldnt be a problem. I have found caffeine to have a much greater effect on the heart rate than ephedrine.

Those heart attacks went down like this: morbidly obese football linebackers, 8 hour training sessions, in full pads, in 109 degree heat, took more than the recommended doses of ephedra products, and they didn't drink enough water.
I'm sure in a dictionary somewehre, that's their definition of 'heart attack waiting to happen'.

normal doses, normal/healthy people, with proper hydration and not trying to induce heat stroke have no problems with this supplement.

You can just as easily find media sources quoting the 'steroid effects of creatine'....which is utter bull****...but sheeple will believe anything the news tells them.

i dont watch the news. thats not where i heard any of that. it actually came from a vet that happens to take it and my sister and I how to get it. what good does it do for you though, if you are healthy and taking it??? the only reason i know of that people use it is to lose weight but its an unhealthy way of doing that because it lowers appetite.

and dont take that the wrong way, im not asking to be judgmental, I honestly want to know what good it does because i have never heard anything good about it. And i actually liked taking it, if there is some good from it then Id consider taking it again.

If you're dieting correctly and already losing weight, it will help you lose a little bit faster.

pretty much what Mreik said...if everythign else is good, then it can help burn fat a little faster, especially the last few stubborn pounds.

but its something that needs to be cycled on/off to remain effective. and having taken lots of ripped fuel back in the day, you WILL have withdrawl effects when you cycle off, mainly headaches/crankiness.
