How much protein at a time

Recently I've started to wonder how much protein I can have at once. I have been finding it hard to get more than 150-180 grams/day in (I weigh 175 lbs) and the upper end of that is with two 30-35g shakes. Can I use more than that in one shake, or will it go to waste? The nutrition facts on the back of the protein says 2 scoops/52g, then add in the milk and I'm up to 60g+ of protein at once. I've been using 1 scoop instead. A doctor once told me that your body can't use more than 30-35g at once, and the rest just gets excreted.

Thanks!

You going to get scientific and anecdotal opinions on how much protein you need.

Im assuming your around 75 kg and i wouldnt consume anymore than 150 g, that is plenty.

Im not sure on the exact figures but your doctors right. Although some may be used for current energy, while the rest excreeted.

You'll be fine with 50g protein a meal.

30-35g at once is right, the thing is your body takes time to digest it so it's not at once. IMO Phate is right, don't go over 50g per meal..

I smell something rather fishy here! Wholly crap-ola....a pound of fish at one time?! I suspect your crap is sort of fishy too.......

.08 to 1.0 per lb of body weight will suffice, and serve you well, OP. Just eat the best you can........and ROCK ON!

Best wishes to ALL!

I don't think you use it all. I too hover around 100g for some meals, which is great. But I guarantee that we're not utilizing all that.
