Muscle Milk

I've been taking Muscle Milk for about a month now and really like it. I normally take a 11oz container of it to the gym in the morning and split it between pre and post workout. On my off days for cardio I jog a few miles and sometimes take this as a drink after I run as well. If not that I make a protein shake for after runs but it all depends on how much time i have. Anyone else drink this stuff or have something they like along this line? I know the cals are a little high but it tastes pretty good which is important to me.

hey webbee, i'm new here looking for the exact same answer re: muscle milk. it was recommended to me because i want to lose weight but i end up feeling a bit loopy, exhausted and starving after my 1.5 hour workout in the afternoon. muscle milk has been great at getting my body back to feeling normal and i'm no longer hungry after my workouts. but, then again, i haven't been taking it long enough to understand the long term effects. and, i'm concerned with the fat content too and i don't know anything about supplements so...

if anyone out there has some insight, i'd also appreciate it!!!

ok cool.

does anyone have any recommendations on what i can take to curb my post exercise hunger. i literally want to eat everything in sight after i exercise.

i heard V8 is good and i tried that and it helped a bit but i was still hungry. i usually exercise in the afternoon, after lunch but before dinner. i can change the time but i actually love working out at that time and it's the only way that i've been consistent with my workouts.

one more thing...i've only been seriously working out for about 4 months. will this post-exercise hunger eventually go away? or, is it a sign that i'm not getting enough nutrients before i exercise?

who knows. i'll appreciate any insight!!!

well, what's the rest of your diet look like? a post workout shake is handy for nutrition, but the fact that its a liquid means its not very filling.
best recommendation is a good PWO shake immediately after training, then eat whole food an hour after that.

if you are trying to bulk up, eat 6 meals a day, plus the PWO shake. eating often helps regulate insulin, blood sugar, and metabolism, and curbs hunger since you're eating something every 2-3 hours.

Yes I would have to agree that some of the elements that make up Muscle Mike at not perfect. Though I can say that it does taste better then most of the drinks I have tried and I definatly have seen myself perform better in the gym if I drink this before my workout/bike ride. Plus you can buy it in bulk at Costco pretty cheap
