Yes, plain creatine monohydrate.
I would recommend the stuff from www.atlargenutrition.com or Optimum Nutrition brand...as both are about $15 for 500g and both are creapure processed monohydrate.

I would suggest 3g of creatine a day, post workout. The research I follow shows 5g a day is for those over 200lbs (more lean mass means more creatine needed to saturate muscles).

Can you taste the creatine monohydrate if you mix it with your post workout shake? I am taking flavored creatine right now, but I don't have much left, and was thinking about the monohydrate instead.

in a shake, nope, it'll be tasteless. its raw taste is just kinda...very slightly bitter..not sweet, not really salty. but I'd call it bland at best.

I just picked up the atlarge stuff, and i gotta say its a very nice consistency, and it doesn't clump at all like my previous GNC brand creatine.

Not if it's just plain monohydrate with no additives.. It never dissolves though, so you just stir before you sip.

It's best taken with some liquid, like juice or water, or in your postworkout shake, whatever it may be. Don't take it with citrus though as it'll turn to waste and your body won't be able to use.

If you try monohydrate and feel you retain to much water(face looks swollen for example) you can try creatine citrate or Pyruvat instead, costs a bit more tho.
You could mix it with whatever you want really but its such small quantities so easiest to just take a spoon of it directly and wash it down with water. Also, make sure you take it with meals or shakes containing some carbs.
