PreMade Protien bars and shakes. Powdered Milk?

Ok, so normally I make my own bars and mix my own shakes, but now I'm going to Iraq and be able to buy milk (well not cow milk anyways ) and keep it in a fridge. But the part of Iraq I'm going to has a pretty big PX (like a Wal-Mart for soldiers) which has a small GNC in it.

So what brand are good protein bars and already mixed shakes?

Also, what about powdered milk? I've never used it but would that be any good to make shakes with?

Smile Protein bars

Hey Kurt,
My personal trainer recommeded the "Detour" bars. Ive been taking them for about 2 mos now and they are actually pretty decent. I find them to be pretty filling as well.
Also best of luck to you in Iraq. We appreciate everything you do!

I also would recommend Detour bars. What I would do however is order as much as you can afford and bring it over with you. GNC is over priced, and Im sure the one in your exchange is gonna be even higher. Get yourself a 10lb bag of ON whey and maybe two boxes of detour bars online. How long are you gonna be deployed?

I know GNC is higher, but its tax free over there, so it helps. Once I get settled in I could check online and have some shipped to my house then my parents could send them over, but that would prolly cost the same with shipping cost added up. I would stock up now but I already have enough stuff to carry.

What about he milk situation? Would powdered milk work? Shipping that over wouldn't be a problem. It doesn't spoil does it?

As of today I have orders for 18 months. But we still have about a month till we actually get to Iraq.

Well I have been here for about 6 months now. Sadly though I have barely been in the gym at all, but I'm working to change that now.

Anyways on this subject, they do have some Detour bars here and I'm going to buy some after I finish off the Met-rx Big 100 bars I have. Any recomendations on flavors?

As far as the milk goes, I can't buy any milk but I can sneak it out of the chow hall. Comes in 8oz cartons, so thats easy to mix with my ON Whey.
