I am one of the many who suffer from severe acid reflux and am perscribed 40mg of Prisolec daily which stops my stomach from producing too much acid. I have heard that this can cause some digestion/absorption issues. I am wondering if anyone has read or heard anything about not being able to absorb creatine monohydrate powder when taking these proton pump inhibitors.

| | | I've not seen any info on this. creatine monohydrate is cheap, and you can kinda feel if its having an effect on your workouts. if it doesn't seem to help after a month, the prilosec might be causing issues.
but, the manufacturer should have more details. it may only block absorption of certain vitamins/minerals, and not amino acids. |

| | | Dont know how credible but I did hear on my local news that people taking proton pump inhibitors have trouble absorbing necessary proteins. So I figured it might have an effect on amino acids since they make up proteins. I will ask my Gastrointerologist next time I visit.
I just started taking creatine (3g per day of ON Monohydrate & no loading thanks to your advice). I weight 155lbs, but how long till I should start feeling any signs of the creatine working?

THANKS again | Well it takes a few weeks for the creatine to reach optimal saturation levels in the muscles.. But some people notice a bloat, but other than that there aren't any tell tale signs. It's more something that helps you little by little, although a very few see their numbers jump.. |

the effects really do slowly creep up on you, although one indicator might be a statement like "wow, I feel like I can do a few more reps than normal" |
