I used to drink protein shakes often before and they've never caused stomach pains or anything like that. Now that I am starting to drink them again they are making me sick. I get an upset stomach and feel sick after I drink even half of what I used to drink before. It's the same brand and it's not expired. It's never happened before.
What could be happening?

What else are you eating?

Does it contain lactose?
Are you training immediately after consumption?

I eat chicken, fish, veggies, fruits, oatmeal. That's pretty much it.

No, it doesn't contain lactose. "The lactose and soluble minerals are then removed by ultrafiltration and diafiltration."
I usually wait awhile after consumption but then my stomach hurts that I just go lay down.

Just make sure you're eating enough solid foods too. I learned the hard way, having a liquid diet does NOT make you feel good.

Can you tell us the brand name? Perhaps others have the same problem. Perhaps they changed formulas since you last took it, and now you're sensitive to the sweetner or something like that.
