Instead of protien shakes lately I bought this special kellogs K packs that you add into a 20 oz bottle of water. It gives you 5 grams of protien. I usually drink 5-6 bottles of water a day, do you think I can quit drinking protien shakes..

5grams of protein..is not enough..to even replace a protein shake.
The point of a protein shake is to get a considerable amount of protein that can quickly be absorbed almost immediately after a training session. If you are drinking 5-6 small bottles with5grams of protein, ok, but it's not a protein shake anymore and couldn't be used as a PO shake effectively.
What brand protein shake did you try that was 'nasty'?
cuz I've had some pretty effing gross protein, and I've had some that tasted like candy.
In particular, I like vanilla Nitrean because it tastes a lot like vanilla ice cream with a little butterscotch or carmel flavor. It also mixes really well and is a whey/casein blend.
Optimum Nutrition also makes quality whey, in some interesting flavors. i've heard cookies n' cream is good, and the chocolate mint (shudder). their chocolate's pretty good, but i would stay away from the rocky road...not from personal experience but others' comments.
True that....had a free sample before was pretty good but i have only ever bought chocolate and from this guy who makes his own....its the best stuff i have ever had and i have tried lots
I've recently changed it up. Now I add 1 tsp of cocoa powder to go along with an ounce of whey protein powder (and maybe a dash of vanilla to the whole thing).
If you like stuff with all the sugars or artificial sweeteners, you probably won't like this. But I'm happy with keeping it just this simple.
