I just bought a box of Myoplex original that was on clearance. This is the exact box I bought.

I paid 32 dollars for it because the best if used by date expired five days ago. It is normally $109. I was originally looking for some whey protien but the price was so good on this and it has whey in it so I bought it.

I have two questions. one is should I be taking it before or after a weight training work out?

Second question. Is it still as effective since the date is expired.

it should still be good. the expiration date is when it begins to lose but has not completely lost its potency.

next time you buy some whey, you can find 5lb tubs by eas, optimum, dymatize, etc at places like muscleshoppe.com, bodybuilding.com, etc for around 25 dollars.

it really doesnt matter if taken before or after training. what is important is to have both a good pre-training and a good post-training meal. most do use it after training though.
