| | | When to take whey protein? When is the optimal time to take whey protein after lifting weights? 10 minutes after? Is a few hours okay? How about 12 hours if you're working out in the evening?
Thanks. |

| | I'd recommend you take it anywhere from a half an hour to an hour after working out. Usually it will give you suggestions on the label of the carton. I take it anywhere from a half an hour to 2 hours after working out. But, about a half an hour after working out is best. But, some proteins are supposed too be taken before working out. Usually you can use your whey before for more energy during workouts, or after for rebuilding the muscle. I personally don't need energy while working out all i have with me is a gallon of water, dedication and drive . |

| | Should be within 15 mins of workout. This is the "Anabolic Window". There is an excellecnt book called Nutrient timing that covers this in detail. |

| | | I take mine right after working out or 20 minutes after due to showering and such. That is the most important time to take a protein shake. It's relatively easy to mix if you can drink it with water. Water bottle with water to juice + whey container in the car. After you workout, just go mix and drink, takes less than 1 minute to do.
If you are trying to bulk up even more, I would suggest taking it at Brunch and Linner as a snack. Brunch is that snack btw breakfast and lunch and Linner is lunch a dinner. It counts as a semi-meal so you kinda get in 5-6 meals a day. Also try taking some Casein before bed OR eat some Cottage cheese, they are slow digesting protein which is helpful over night. |

| | I WOULD NOT! recommend you try it with water. I have and its the nastiest taste ever, forget about it with juice if its chocolate. Oh, and never try it with yogurt i vomitted last time . Milk and ice cubes --> blend is definetely much better and delicious. But i guess it varies on what flavor you use. |

| | | Within 15-20 minutes after workout. Same people take it before going to bed also. Not recommended in the morning on empty stomach - whey is digested so quickly that it can cause an insulin spike. |

| | | Everything up they said is correct. One thing i have found to be beneficial is after a work out take like triple the normal amount. Like i normal take in 50g when ever i have a shake but after a workout(especially legs) i will take in like 125g. I have just noticed that flooding you body with nutrients, and a lot of it will help it recover and build faster. IF you think about it even though your taking in about 600-900 calories its gonna go straight to your damaged muscles and not you ur ass |

| | | Yes, the required amount of protein to carb ratio is 4:1. Any more protein that that has been shown to slow rehydration and glycogen replenishment. | | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | | | Display Modes | Rate This Thread | Linear Mode | |
