Why the cycle?

why do most all creatines always say to like, cycle on for 12 weeks and them cycle off for 4? I know that creatine is naturally accruing in the body so....why must we cycle it?

There's no actual reason you "must". Take it every day if you like.

you sure??? Most supp company's would love you to be having it every day but i very much doubt that as actual instructions they put it as cycle of for 4 weeks. There must be some reason for it. My creatine says 2 weeks loading 4 weeks maintain then 4 weeks off.

My position is more consistent (logically) than that of the supplement companies. The burden of proof is on them, not me. So, yeah, I'm sure. Worst case scenario you waste a couple dollars worth of creatine monohydrate every few months.

Having said that, try both (in isolation - meaning your creatine cycle is the only nutritional change you make) and see which gives you the best gains. Results are often individual. There's a science to figuring out what works best for you rather than what works best for some theoretical average man who doesn't actually exist.

Don't worry if you can't wrap your head around the philosophy behind what I'm saying. In short, "no, but try both if you like." It certainly can't hurt.

The reasoning of that is the following.
It is thought that if you supply your body with creatine for a longer period of time, your body will start to rely on the external supplementation of creatine and it wil reduce its natural production of creatine.
In other words, you cycle creatine in order to prevent your body from lowering its natural creatine production. Also it is believed that longer periods of creatine supplementation may be hard on the kidneys.

These are just some theories/views about this question. I don't have a stance whether they are or aren't true, But I cycle the creatine just for precaution. You have only one body gotta take good care of it.

The reason I cycle creatine is because of the benefits of reloading, plus I read that if we take it nonstop our body will no longer produce it.

Meh.
