Diet advice needed.

I'm looking for some diet tips from the experts here. My current diet consist mostly of Wheat bread or wraps, chicken, lean ham, turkey, fish, occasionally some red meat, lot's of veggies, and some fruits. I stay away from refined sugars totally, I do guzzle diet soft drinks though, diet Pepsi max is my bane.

I eat small meals, usually 200-350 calories a piece, and don't snack any throughout the day. I normally hit around 900-1000 calories a day. Reading through the forums I'm finding out that this can actually be harmful to my diet being this low. What should I set my daily calorie target at? At work I very inactive, I sit at my desk mostly for about 8 hours. I workout almost every day, I've been jogging/walking and I'm up to two miles a day now, I also do some weight training.

I added a glass of skim milk to my breakfast this morning to help with the calories some, but are there any other foods I should add to my diet, or anything that you see that I need to remove?

Yes, 900-1000 calories is insanely low, I would guess doubling it might still not be enough. Your body is in a starvation state, so anything you ingest is not being utilized effectively, and you body will want to store as much fat as possible.

How many calories you should be consuming depends on your weight, and your goals (losing fat, building muscle). If you search Google, you can find plenty of sites with calculators to find your calorie needs. As an example though, I'll give my numbers. I weigh 178, and when bulking I eat 18 calories for every pound, so I get about 3200 cals. When cutting, burning fat, I eat 12 calories for every pound and get about 2200 cals.

You mentioned a lot of great foods, but if you are only getting 900 cals from them, just eat more of them!!! Lots of veggies! Also, don't neglect healthy fats. Nuts, fish oil, flax seeds, olive oil. You need plenty of them. I lost more fat than ever before in my life during a time in which I was eating the most fat, just the right kinds of fat.
