This is what confuses me, it is said that you cant gain fat and lose muscle at the same time. However, a ton of the people that workout in my college gym are jacked and lean, and I'm pretty sure most of them have never even heard of bulking and cutting, so I know its not impossible or even rare. I just have to figure out how...
Genetics...of course unless you know their workout history and current diet that's a bit extreme I guess.
For the OP - Full body workouts* seem the best fit for me, with a high-protein diet, a decent calorie deficit based on energy expenditure/height/weight/age, and an EASY 45 minutes cardio everyday.
Cardio is key my man...my metabolism was obliterated as a few people here know with my little starve moment in high school, but I maintained my weight/strength and looked ripped, all because of cardio. Of course I was running a SHIiTLOAD, but I could eat whatever I wanted (post-season) and still maintain..If you get that bored with cardio, throw on some hikin' boots and a weighted vest and do some fast-paced walkin' through the woods. Or grab one of those audio-books.
Plus it's good being able to never seem to run out of breath...just some food for thought...wonderful, wholesome, HEARTY food...as in heart attack.
oh yeah.. *Squats, deadlifts, dead-hang pullups (MARINE CORPS SHIiT, none of that kippin' nonsense) Tire flippin' is more of a FBW in my opinion.
Thanks, I'm going to eat as clean as possible but keep protein high and i'll try and do at least 3 sessions of hiit every week and some steady cardio every day maybe running, walking or cycling as I don't really have access to huge tyres and weight sleds or though I am trying to get a weight sled
