What do you all think of this diet? Every morning i will eat about a bowl of cereal and a carton of milk(from school). For lunch i will pack a cheese and turkey sandwhich on wheat, about 10-15 red grapes, 10-20 baby carrots,a bottle of water and for a snack during the day i will take an extra bottle of water and 5-10 medium sized strwberries. Every few days i will replace the grapes or strawberries with a bannana. I used to eat the same sandwhich, a bag of chips, and a soda. I felt so unhealthy eating it. And i will eat whatever homecooked meal my dad makes. He is from the middle East and the mediterranean diet, i heard was one of the healthiest out there. What do you think of this new diet? I will eat this all while doing the activities i listed earlier regularly. I dont want to build alot of muscle now, other than what we do in Taekwondo, but i am taking weightlifting next year. | Sounds like a good diet, just don't overdo it. You're still young and your body is going to need the calories and nutrients as you progress though puberty. You're still going to do a lot of developing.
Best of luck. |

And remember, you are 13 and your body is going to continue to change and grow as you get older. Enjoy this time in your life and do activities that you find fun! You'll be amazed how much of your good habits you'll carry into your adult life!
cheers!

| | | lol you all are hilarious lol. Also is running a mile in !0 min 20 sec bad for me since i just started out? In about a week when i can run a mile almost nonstop or nonstop im gonna go for 2 miles. Today i ate a biscuit, and sausage at school for breakfast, the same meal i listed for lunch(the grapes, carrots, strawberries, bottled water, and turke sandwhich on toasted wheat.) and some pasta for dinner(pretty much spaghetti but it was also baked in the oven). I had extra grapes as a snack and some trail mix. I had a tea biscuit or two. Did todays diet sound good for me? Like is it healthy? |

Here is what my ex-girlfriend told me she eats when I asked her..
"I know you just want to scrutinize lol, but I'll indulge you. For instance, yesterday I ate:
1 fruit grain bar thing
approximately 3 spoonfuls of cottage cheese ( I can't eat much of that stuff without feeling sick.)
1 bowl of chicken noodle soup
probably 1.5 cups of stuffing
1-2 glasses of orange soda (no caffiene mind you)
oh and some sun chips ( probably about 15-20 of them)
... I probably need more fruit huh? Among other things. LOL.
And today I've had:
1 bowl raisin bran (but the raisins were rock hard so I didn't eat it all)
1 bowl of chicken noodle soup (left over of course)
1 cup stuffing ( left over lol)
1 glass of orange soda :P
1 oreo cakester and glass of milk (have you tried those, they taste just like cake!)
1 piece of left over peporonni pizza (wasn't very good... pizza left over never is)"
So really, I wouldn't bog the kid down with having the perfect diet, it's really not all that bad... it's pretty clean anyway.
He's only 13, and being that young and in school your diet isn't completely up to you.... I wouldn't discourage him like that.
I think your doing fine just have some patience.

| | | Yeah zraigy, just keep reading and learning. I think it's great that you are on this website, you are really getting ahead of the game. People are going to be jealous of you someday. Your diet isn't perfect no, but it doesnt need to be. Just do your best to continuously improve it. Its all about making gains. |

If he didn't want opinions, he wouldn't have asked. Just because it could be worse doesn't mean it's good. Let's make it better. | Good point.
Encouragement is an incredibly important thing. However, what behavior is being encouraged is even more important. |

Just don't make it a habit of eating too much sausage AS we were saying before, just be aware of what you are eating, and instead of reaching for the snickers, grab that apple!
Wow, 10 minute mile? Pretty good start! I couldn't do that when I started running! If you are going to continue running often you may want to look into getting some good running shoes. They will be very helpful.
So, I think you are doing great! Hell, You are doing WAY better than I was at 13!
Keep going!
Cheers,
