| | | That depends on a lot of factors. What are your goals? Your typical activity level? Do you do any other types of cardio? How many calories are you eating?

| | Too much and unnecessary. You'll end up not giving your body (certainly lower body) enough rest, and you'll quickly stall. 2-3x each week at most. HIIT isn't a magic trick: it's a form of cardio, just like any other. It offers certain advantages over other forms, perhaps, but it shouldn't be used haphazardly either, or at the expense of other forms. Everything needs to "fit" in a well-designed routine, cardio and HIIT included. |

| | I think it's too much. HIIT is becoming a cure-all cardio program for most people. I suggest people participate in a variety of cardio intensities. A week (for me) includes some short/higher intensity cardio, a few days of modertate intensity and time cardio sessions and a day or two or lower intensity, longer period of time sessions. |

| | What about if you instruct Bodystep, which is a HIIT class?? And when Im not instructing it, Im practicing new routines so I dont bore the class with the same old one?? How many calories does one need for that?? Once or twice a week I will do 2 classes in a day, 1 in morning and 1 in the pm. they are 45 minute classes, with 15 minutes of strength/ stretching at the end btw. |

| | | You can try to piece together how many calories you burns. Personally I would just eat XX amount of calories for a few weeks and train regularly. If you lose muscle and body fat, then increase your calories per day by adding a bit more protein.
If you gain fat and gain muscle, then decrease the daily caloric intake by reducing carbs some.
Triathletes and others workout more than an average person. I used to teach cardio/lifting classes and then do my normal workout routine and then a yoga class. It's just about finding your caloric intake for your lifestyle. |

| | | I usually eat around 1800-2300 calories a day, depending on what I eat, and how hungry I feel. I had been loosing weight still, very slowing, but loosing weight nonetheless. Its hard to tell where its coming from, I need to get my bodyfat checked again, its been a long time since I have checked it, I probably have lost 5 pounds since I last checked it. It was 11 percent then. kinda interested to see what it is now. | | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | | | Display Modes | Rate This Thread | Linear Mode | |
