| | | lifting & cardio 50/50 so am i cutting or bulking? Ok I know this topic has probably been beat like a dead horse, but im really confused....every topic I go into seems to contradict cardio and lifting purposes at the same time....I thought there was nothing wrong with lifting and cardio at the same time and even equalizing it. I dont want to really look like arnold schwarzenegger but in the same time I dont want to be a toothpick so my logical thinking is to do half cardio and half weights...about the only thing I really want to rotate is upper body from lower body....I would like opinions from everyone based upon their results, experiences from trainers, trainers themselves....please educated answers only though...Im confused enough as it is and dont need no help in that category |

| | | Cutting and bulking is more dependant on eating. For some, workouts may only change a slight bit when going from cutting to bulking or vise versa, but what does change is the big increase in calories. So you have to decide from the get go what you want to do. Either you eat in a deficit, and you lose fat, or you eat in a surplus and you build muscle. That is of course, ensuring that you have a good solid workout in place. The issue of cardio and weights also has to do with your goals. If you are trying to build muscle, there is no real sense in running all the time, but if you want to shed fat, running will be a good friend of yours. |

| | Thanx MMW for your post
I understand what you are saying, but technically I want to cut and bulk @ the same time and I do realize that muscle building will burn fat too. I dunno if my body is just so adapted to cardio that its hard to make the transistion but I have been doing my weight lifting first instead of vice versa and have slowly adapted more lifting and even incorporated more meals, less fat, more protein into my diet. I think im starting to feel/see a difference but its still to early to tell. It just seems like I get burned out on weights but still have energy left for cardio. | | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | | | Display Modes | Rate This Thread | Linear Mode | |
